Cindy has 23 years of diverse project experience in the Architecture Engineering/Construction industry. She is a licensed General Contractor, is a certified LEED AP and has her CM-BIM certification. She is the President & Chief Operating Officer with VDCO Tech Inc. Cindy is a past member of the Board of Direction for the buildingSmart alliance and is in charge of the bimSMART foundation Interest Groups. In addition to Cindy's work with the bSf, Cindy is an approved CM-BIM instructor for all four of the AGC BIM Certification Classes.

Birgitta Foster (BSME, MBA) formally Assisting Director at buildingSMARTalliance (bSa) and Facilities BIM Champion for Sandia National Labs, is the Director of Facilities Integration at VDCO Tech, and specializes in Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Facilities Management (FM) integration strategies. Birgitta is a leading authority, writer, and presenter on BIM for Owners, and continues to examine how technologies can improve Operations and Maintenance, Space Planning, and Asset Management. Her BIM and FM strategies, Design for Maintenance and Transition to Operations have appeared in Journal of BIM. Since receiving her BSME from the University of Texas, Birgitta’s career has encompassed working for product manufacturers, an Engineering/Construction firm, an assembler/fabricator, a General Contractor, and an Owner. While serving as bSa’s Assisting Director she supported NBIMS-US efforts while overseeing the development of the Introduction to Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie) course. Birgitta continues to represent bSa-US as the IUG Secretary for buildingSMART International and provides education on COBie nationally and internationally.
Thomas A. Gay
Tom Gay manages worldwide CAD and GIS services, site plan documentation and engineering document management services for The Factory Mutual Insurance Company (FM Global). He is also FM Global’s representative to the buildingSMART alliance (serving as chairman since 2008) and The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). In the past he has served as Chairman of the GDS North American User Group, as a Member of Convergent Group - International Conference Committee and as a Technology/Curriculum Advisory Board Member for ITT Technical Institute.
Christopher A. Moor
Chris is the vice president of Steel Projects Corp: A FICEP Group company. Past roles include director of industry initiatives for the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Chair of the National BIM Standard-United States (NBIMS-US) Project Committee, and managing director of Tekla Corporation’s (now Trimble) UK subsidiary.
Chris has worked with three-dimensional technology/BIM since 1994 and led AISC efforts regarding technology integration and interoperability with a view to automating steel fabrication. Now within the FICEP Group he is spearheading the actual implementation of those efforts at fabricators across the country. He has served as a director on the buildingSMART alliance Board of Direction; vice-chair of the American Iron and Steel Institute BIM Committee; secretary of AISC's Technology Integration Committee; and as the AISC lead for a Fiatech project addressing interoperability for steel within the process industry. Chris also led the 2021 Vision Task Force for buildingSMART alliance whose mission was to develop a clearer understanding for how the construction industry might operate in the future such that future versions of NBIMS and other standards/guides can be geared toward meeting the industry’s needs.
Deke Smith is the managing partner in the firm DKS Information Consulting, LLC and a Senior Analyst with Cyon Research the home of the Congress on the Future of Engineering Software (COFES). He was formerly the Executive Director for the buildingSMART alliance™ and a member of buildingSMART International Executive Committee. Deke was instrumental in the beginnings of the NIBS Construction Criteria Base, now the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG). He initiated both the United States National CAD Standard© and the National BIM Standard-United States®. He is currently co-leading the APPA ANSI Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) effort and coordinating the Academic Interoperability Coalition (AiC) a group of 60 universities working to coordinate collaborative education for the facilities and infrastructure industries. . He is a registered architect in the state of Virginia and a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects. He is co-author of “Building Information Modeling: A Strategic Implementation Guide” published in 2009 by Wiley.
